No court order for police to get Indira's children

 


The Syariah High Court did not issue any order to the
police to retrieve the children of K Pathmanathan @ Mohd
Ridhuan Abdullah, who is involved in a bitter child
custody battle with his former wife M Indira Gandhi, the
High Court in Ipoh heard. This was told to High Court
judge Lee Swee Seng yesterday afternoon by Indira’s
lawyer M Kulasegaran, after senior federal counsel
Shamsulbol Hassan applied for a postponement of the
hearing of Indira’s application to initiate judicial review
 to compel Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar
to act on High Court order issued to him.

Ongoing Development Projects Threatens Indigenous People In Malaysia

A couple of days ago, a group of Orangs Asal (Indigenous People) called to discuss the aggravate situation where pollutes their inhabitants at the Sungkai and Kampar in Perak. Apparently, the State Government has approved the Perak Hydro Renewable Energy dam to be built upstream in Sg.Slim. However, Orang Asal inhabitants has been adversely affected by the ongoing development projects. And also, the water supply has been affected due to the construction. Massive deforestation is threatening the way of life of the indigenous populations and causing environmental catastrophes. Rivers run dry and food sources are threatened as a result of persistent development, threatening the way of life for the indigenous people. Our team of lawyers will assist them to strive, protect and strengthen their rights. Soon, we will visit the affected areas to see it with our own eyes.

Teacher ordered to enter defence

In 2014, it was big news with primary school children forced to resit the UPSR exams due to leaked questions. The above teacher apparently got the question papers via his WhatsApp and not realizing the seriousness had sent to his friends. He was caught and charged under the Official Secrets Act which carries a maximum sentence of 7 years if found guilty. There are 5 charges against him. We won the case at the Sessions Court and the High Court without the Defense being called to answer the charges. Unfortunately, yesterday by a majority of 2-1 the Court of Appeal Judges allowed the Appeal. The case will be remitted to the Sessions Court for the teacher to give evidence.
