New laws should be enacted to help abandoned parents

This matter is happening rapidly in Malaysia due to the lack of protection for aged parents from the Parliament. I hope new laws will be enacted to address this issue and also to provide justice for them. Not only the Parliament have to enact but They have to ensure that its being implemented and enforced it strictly against children who causes their parents to lose their property at this age.

A couple of days ago, a group of Orangs Asal (Indigenous People) called to discuss the aggravate situation where pollutes their inhabitants at the Sungkai and Kampar in Perak. Apparently, the State Government has approved the Perak Hydro Renewable Energy dam to be built upstream in Sg.Slim. However, Orang Asal inhabitants has been adversely affected by the ongoing development projects. And also, the water supply has been affected due to the construction. Rivers run dry and food sources are threatened as a result of persistent development, threatening the way of life for the indigenous people. Teacher ordered to enter defence

In 2014, it was big news with primary school children forced to resit the UPSR exams due to leaked questions. The above teacher apparently got the question papers via his WhatsApp and not realizing the seriousness had sent to his friends. He was caught and charged under the Official Secrets Act which carries a maximum sentence of 7 years if found guilty. There are 5 charges against him. We won the case at the Sessions Court and the High Court without the Defense being called to answer the charges. Unfortunately, yesterday by a majority of 2-1 the Court of Appeal Judges allowed the Appeal. The case will be remitted to the Sessions Court for the teacher to give evidence.

Member of Parliament challenges the constitutionality of Section 9(1) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012

On 14.10.2016, Thomas Su the MP for Ipoh Timur was charged under Section 9(1) and punishable under Section 9(5) of Peaceful Assembly Act 2012. Thomas Su was charged for the same offence in 2013 and subsequently the prosecution withdraw the charge. Now, since the Government has a lot of free time and a lot of resources to dispense with, they decided to charge Thomas Su for the same offence again. After perusing the charge, the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and our Federal Constitution we are of the opinion that particularly Section 9(1) and Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 is unconstitutional. Thus, we have filed an application pursuant to Section 30 of the Courts of Judicature Act 1964 to refer the constitutionality of this section to the High Court and subsequently to the Federal Court pursuant to Section 84 Courts of Judicature Act 1964.
